“You really should not make decisions in securities based on what other people think. If you’re doing that, you should think about doing something else. A public opinion poll will not get you rich on Wall Street. So you really want to stick with businesses that you feel you can somehow evaluate yourself. Charlie and I, we don’t read anything about what business is going to be, the economy is going to do, or the market’s going to do. Anytime I see some article that says these analysts say this or that about some business, it doesn’t mean anything to us. You cannot get rich with a weather vane.” —Warren Buffett (1994)
[Note/Question for subscribers: Overcast will be discontinuing the Website Player early next year. The app won’t change, just the website player, and so syncing between the app and web browser will no longer occur. I use Overcast for podcast links because I like that syncing, especially since it saves my place to jump ahead of ads at the beginning of podcasts when I post. But with this news, I’m looking for an alternative podcast player for everything. I’m leaning toward Spotify, but if any readers have any thoughts or recommendations, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!]
